I have been thinking a lot lately about how this little circle of friends has grown and how far it reaches. I was reading in my Bible and found a great verse to encourage us in our quest for friendship:
Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12
Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
For if they fall, one will lift up his companion,
But woe to him who is alone when he falls.
For he has no one to help him up.
Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken
Frienship is a blessing in any form.
Thank you God for our circle of friends:
Susie, Seeker, Saur,Slick, PrayerfulMom, Anne, Cheryl,JamieDawn, Jennifer,Ted, and all our visitors.
I pray that I am an encouragement to you and maybe make you laugh a little. I hope I haven't offended anyone with my strange sense of humor. Thank you for encouraging me and sharing your gift of friendship with me and mine.
Hoping everyone has a wonderfully long weekend.........
PS When I spellchecked this , the computer wanted to replace JamieDawn with "comedian". How funny is that?:o)
Thanks Auntie-J for the post. I too have enjoyed the fun and hope I have not offended as well.

but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." NKJV
It's me the comedian clown cut-up blatherer.
ReplyDeleteI hope your New Year's weekend is a good one.
May 2006 be a year of blessing, humor and joy for your family. Oh, and a great blogging year!
hi, i am a bad mom. i bought my son national lampoons vacation for christmas because it was only a buck fitty. he just told me i'm a bad mom for buying his this movie. so, he's right, i wasn't paying attention.
ReplyDeletetoday has been a weird day. i'm in a bad mood, although it doens't come out like that on the blog. I feel icky, and my mom really ticks me off. since i know she'll never come here, i'm going to post her email to me here, so you can see what i have to deal with.
"Susie~~~~~Yes, I do read your blog. But I don't know why - because most of the time it is a severe shock to my sensibilities. It really makes me wonder where I went wrong - maybe it is all the intervening years that have washed away my influence.
Actually, I do know what forces me to your blog - it is the only way that I can find out if you are still alive - since I don't seem to be receiving any personal emails from you lately. "
my mom is a big stick in the mud, she lives a sheltered life, she is a christian, and she raised me a christian, but it sort of bums me out that she is embarrased by me. i'm a pretty darn good person for what i could be, and she is all concerned about poop talk, and dumb stuff like that.
thanks all you guys, for listening to my whining, i'm just bummed out right now, and i'm really grouchy, and i'm so sick of dylan saying the word "mom" followed by some retarded question.
i'm going to bed. see you tomorrow
There is nothing more FUN than a strange sense of humor, and I'm glad to be getting to know you. Re. Jamie Dawn's name replacement, that's priceless!
ReplyDeleteFriends are so important, no matter where you find them. I didn't expect to make friends blogging, and have been so pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the Scriptural reminder of the importance of that kind of support.
Well thank you all for playing with me on this blog. When I started it, I just thought it would be a place for me to record my little life experiences , never dreaming I could stretch waaaaayyyyy across the country from Florida to Idaho to Chicago and wherever else y'all are.
ReplyDeleteSusie, I like you just the way you are. Mom is just looking at you from her Mom Point of View. If Carly was doing this I would probably say she is silly too. Your mom didn't go wrong anywhere, you just developed an independent/quirky/fast-paced/poopy sense of humor. :o)
We all wear different masks for different people. Your Blogger Mask may just be a little too WILD AND CRAZY for her.
I get it now. You spelled JamieDawn without a space,so spell check saw: Jamiedawn or
ReplyDeleteJa-me-dee-yan. very clever of spell check.
And I am very appreciative of you, as well. It's a joy to find kindred-spirits out there. Until the internet, and blogs, it could be a lonely place. It's one thing to have friends, it's another to have kindred spirits.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!!!
You're a fun lady to know, JO. Can't wait to know you better. :-)
ReplyDeleteSusie, is it possible your mom is trying to play along and be funny too? Maybe she's just humor-challenged. Give her time. (You could always change the address of your blog. Just make sure to email us the new address.)
